About this job
Job Description
I’m a professional Fashion Stylist with a longtime personal fashion collection that I now need to liquidate fairly quickly. I’ve spent years collecting vintage clothing, designer pieces, shoes, accessories, and unique finds through my career.
I recently inherited my mom’s home as well, and I’m now in the process of preparing the house for sale. Along with my own collection, I have quite a bit of my mom’s furniture, clothing, decor, and personal belongings that also need to be sorted through and sold.
So, needless to say, there is a lot to do and I need to move quickly.
Some of my things are fun fashion/vintage pieces, while some of my mom’s belongings are more personal. I’m looking for someone who can be respectful and understanding of that while still helping me stay focused on the bigger goal: getting everything organized, listed, sold, and out of the house.
WHAT I NEED HELP WITH
I’m looking for someone with real resale experience who can take a large amount of inventory and independently figure out the best way to sell it.
That includes:
- Taking clear, attractive photos
- Identifying clothing brands, designers, vintage pieces, materials, sizing, etc.
- Knowing what things are realistically worth
- Creating listings on Depop, Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace, and other appropriate platforms
- Writing good titles and descriptions
- Knowing the right keywords, tags, categories, and search terms
- Staying on top of messages, offers, and buyers
- Shipping orders every week and keeping fulfillment organized
- Coordinating local pickups for furniture and larger items
- Keeping track of inventory and sales
- Deciding what should be listed individually versus bundled
- Knowing when something should be discounted, sold locally, or simply needs to get out the door
I’m not looking for someone who will spend hours trying to squeeze an extra $10 out of an item that could have been sold and gone already. I need someone with good judgment who understands when maximizing an item makes sense and when moving inventory quickly is the priority.
WHO I’M LOOKING FOR
This is best suited for someone who already has experience with online resale.
Experience with Depop, Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, estate sales, consignment, vintage markets, or your own resale business is a big plus.
You should:
- Know clothing brands and designers
- Understand fashion and vintage
- Have a good eye for photography and presentation
- Understand how online marketplaces work
- Know how to use keywords and tags effectively
- Be organized and reliable
- Communicate well and respond promptly
- Stay on top of shipping and follow-through
- Be trustworthy in a private home
- Have good judgment
- Be comfortable making decisions independently
- Not need constant direction
I want someone who can look at a pile of clothing and think:
“I know what this is, I know where it should be listed, I know roughly what it’s worth, and I can get it done.”
HOURS
I’d ideally like someone who can commit to 30–40 hours per week, but the schedule is extremely flexible.
You can structure the hours however you want as long as the work is consistently getting done. I’m much more interested in productivity than having someone sit in the house from 9–5 just because those are the hours.
I’m also open to structuring the position around production rather than hours — for example, agreeing on a certain number of quality listings per week.
PAY
Pay is negotiable based on experience and the arrangement that makes the most sense.
I’m open to:
- A fixed hourly rate
- A weekly rate
- A combination of hourly pay and commission
I’m also open to discussing a 50/50 profit split for the right person, particularly if you have significant resale experience and can independently manage the process.
I’m happy to discuss what structure makes the most sense once I know your experience.
LOCATION
The house is located inside the Sea Colony gated community.
You’ll need to be comfortable working out of a private home and handling clothing, furniture, vintage pieces, and personal belongings respectfully. That being said you can work on the actual postings from home as well as obviously any and all communication with buyers and package drop offs which will be compensated for.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE SITUATION
I want to be upfront about what you’re walking into because this isn’t a perfectly organized resale operation waiting for someone to come in and photograph things.
It’s a lot of stuff accumulated over many years, plus my mom’s belongings that I’m now having to go through after inheriting her home.
There may be moments where I need to make a decision about something sentimental or personal, and I appreciate someone who can be patient and respectful of that while still helping me keep things moving.
At the same time, I do not want to get stuck emotionally attached to everything and never get the house cleared out.I need someone who can help me make practical decisions and keep the process moving forward.
TO APPLY
Please send me:
- Your previous resale experience
- Which platforms you’ve sold on & links to your page or previous listings
- Your knowledge of clothing brands/designers/vintage
- Any experience with estate sales, furniture, antiques, or home decor
- Your availability
- Your preferred compensation structure
- A little about yourself and why you think you’d be a good fit
Please don’t apply if you have little or no actual experience selling things online.
I’m looking for someone trustworthy, organized, efficient, knowledgeable about fashion and resale, good at photography, good with people, and capable of taking initiative without needing to be told what to do every step of the way.
If you’re someone who genuinely enjoys fashion, vintage, resale, flea markets, and the process of turning a lot of stuff into organized inventory and eventually sold merchandise, this could be a really fun project.
