Job Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I role is based in the healthcare providers cardiac catheterization laboratory. This position involves supporting cardiovascular procedures such as catheters, peripherals, TAVR, and device placements, ensuring optimal functioning of lab equipment, accurate documentation, and maintaining sterile techniques. The technologist collaborates with the medical team to enhance patient safety and departmental efficiency.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology Technology or an associates degree in a healthcare-related field or an acceptable equivalent; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Louisiana State Licensure (LRT or F) by LSRT; 0-1 years of experience in an acute care setting
- Preferred Qualifications: One of the following certifications is preferred: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCIRadiography (R) by ARRT; additional relevant certifications may enhance candidature
- Responsibilities: Prepare the lab and operate essential equipment, including fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems; document patient information and hemodynamic measurements accurately; support and anticipate physician needs during procedures; maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures; act as radiation safety representative during imaging; perform fluoroimaging and digital acquisition as instructed by the physician; support department quality initiatives and patient safety; collaborate with team members to optimize efficiency and patient care; promote organizational principles of holistic care, mutual respect, and stewardship.
