THE HEARING & SPEECH FOUNDATION (HSF)

The Hearing and Speech Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We empower individuals with hearing and communication deficits, regardless of financial resources, to live their lives to the fullest.

Position: Hearing Instrument Specialist,  Audiologist
Position Type: Full Time
Salary: Negotiable based upon experience

The individual who holds this position has the qualifications and credentials to test and evaluate hearing loss, fit and adjust hearing aids on the clients, perform administrative duties as assigned and required to support the fitting, adjusting and management of the Community Care Assistance Program and the Hearing Center clients.  The individual who holds this position reports to the Executive Director.

Core Responsibilities:

·         Capability of all audiological battery of tests to evaluate clients hearing.

·         Select, fit, program and verify hearing aids and related technology (assistive listening devices, remote microphones, custom earmolds)

·         Provide ongoing follow-up care, including device troubleshooting, reprogramming, repairs coordination, and counseling on communication strategies for patients and their families.

·         Cerumen management, cleaning ears when needed.

·         Taking impressions for ear molds when necessary.

·         Maintain client records.  (SOP)

·         Maintain an organized and clean space for all supplies, equipment and aids.

·         Process all donated aids within 2 weeks of receipt. (SOP)

·         Willing to expand your knowledge and apply alternative methods of fitting hearing aids.

·         Have available and keep updated, the 5 major hearing aid manufacturer fitting programs that we use on NOAH.

·         Ordering hearing aids from manufacturers in conjunction with the Executive Director.

·         Maintain accurate clinical documentation in SYCLE, write reports and communications for referring providers, and coordinate care within ENT, primary care, or broader medical and educational teams.

Other Responsibilities:

·         Support the Hearing & Speech Foundation outreach in the community when necessary.

·         Attend Board Meetings when requested if time permits.

Requirements:

·         Current certifications required by the State of Tennessee and profession

·         Well-organized and detail oriented

Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
