POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Ophthalmic Technician to join our busy and expanding ophthalmology practice. This is an excellent opportunity to enter a rewarding healthcare field—no prior experience required, we will train the right candidate!

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Greeting and rooming patients; verifying patient information
• Obtaining medical and ocular history and documenting chief complaint
• Performing pre-testing (visual acuity, tonometry, visual fields, OCT, etc.)
• Refracting patients (training provided)
• Assisting the physician with examinations, minor procedures, and injections
• Administering eye drops and preparing patients for exams
• Scribing for the physician as needed
• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Cleaning and stocking exam rooms and equipment
• Educating patients on medications, treatments, and post-visit care
• Coordinating patient flow to minimize wait times

Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong typing and computer skills (EMR experience a plus)
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Willingness to learn and be trained
