Our surgical team is growing! Capital District Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (CDOMS) is hiring experienced Dental Surgical Assistants for both full-time and part-time opportunities in Albany and Latham, NY.

Compensation Package

Full-Time Team Members:

Location & Schedule

Practice Hours:

Monday-Thursday: 8AM-4PMFriday: 8AM-2PMLunch: 1-2PM Monday-ThursdayNo evenings or weekends

Full-time and part-time schedules are available within practice hours.

Your Role as a Dental Surgical Assistant

Prepare surgical operatories, instruments, equipment, and patient charts for proceduresProvide chairside assistance during oral surgery procedures, including wisdom teeth and surgical extractions, implant placement, bone grafting, and IV sedationSupport surgeons and anesthesia teams throughout proceduresMonitor patient comfort and assist with vitals and recovery protocols within your training and scopeSterilize instruments and maintain strict surgical infection-control standardsCapture digital imaging and support accurate clinical documentationEducate patients and caregivers on pre- and post-operative instructionsMaintain surgical supplies, implant materials, and treatment-room inventoryCollaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, assistants, and administrative team members to keep surgical days running efficiently

What We’re Looking For

Previous dental/oral surgery assisting experience requiredExperience with wisdom teeth, surgical extractions, implants, and/or sedation strongly preferredHigh school diploma or equivalentDental assisting education and applicable certifications preferredCurrent CPR/BLS certificationStrong understanding of sterilization and infection-control protocolsCalm, confident, and compassionate approach to surgical patient careExcellent communication and organizational skillsDependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working as part of a highly coordinated surgical team
