Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to provide high-level support to the Immigration Law Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in immigration law and hands-on experience with temporary work authorization categories for foreign nationals, PERM labor certification, and employment-based immigrant petitions. This role involves substantive case work, client coordination, document preparation, and process management in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft, review, and file petitions, applications, and supporting documentation for temporary work authorization categories (including specialty occupation, intracompany transfer, extraordinary ability, professional, and treaty-based classifications).
- Manage and process PERM labor certification applications, including recruitment, Prevailing Wage Determinations (PWD), audit responses, and related Department of Labor filings.
- Prepare and process employment-based immigrant petitions (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, National Interest Waivers, and related I-140 petitions), Adjustment of Status (I-485), and consular processing.
- Maintain accurate case management systems, track deadlines, and ensure timely filing with USCIS, DOL, and other agencies.
- Gather, organize, and review client documents; draft cover letters, support letters, and evidentiary packages.
- Communicate with clients, employers, and government agencies regarding case status and document requests.
- Assist attorneys with research on immigration regulations, policy updates, and case strategies.
- Support compliance-related matters and respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and audits as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Immigration Practice Group.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience as an immigration paralegal.
- Preferred experience with:
- Temporary work authorization categories for foreign nationals
- PERM / Labor Certification processes
- Employment-based immigrant petitions (EB categories, I-140, I-485)
- Strong knowledge of USCIS, DOL, and related immigration procedures and forms.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
