Job Description
Support student growth and success in a dynamic 8th-grade environment serving approximately 13 students. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of middle school learners, providing both push-in and dedicated pull-out support with a particular focus on math instruction. This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule, totaling 37.5 hours per week, and places you at the heart of a collaborative and supportive school community.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) in Colorado
- Experience supporting middle school students, preferably 8th grade
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching approaches and collaborative classroom models
- Comfortable providing both push-in services (working in the general education classroom) and leading a dedicated pull-out math group
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored math instruction through a blend of push-in and pull-out services, adapting strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate math activities and support all learners
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, tracking student progress and making data-driven adjustments
- Create a supportive, respectful classroom climate that encourages student engagement and growth
- Communicate regularly with families and colleagues to share progress and insights
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and all required school activities
