Job Description
The Construction Site Safety Coordinator serves as a dedicated safety leader on a large-scale data center construction project, responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing all site safety policies and procedures. Working closely with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and trade partners, this role ensures full compliance with OSHA regulations, client safety standards, and site-specific safety plans. The position requires a strong field presence, proven experience on complex construction sites, and a proactive approach to identifying hazards and mitigating risks before they impact workers or project progress.
Responsibilities- Implement and enforce site-specific safety policies, procedures, and programs across a large-scale data center construction project.
- Monitor daily construction activities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA construction standards and client safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits, documenting findings and following up on corrective actions to eliminate unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and trade partners to integrate safety into planning, scheduling, and execution of work.
- Lead and support safety training initiatives for field crews, including toolbox talks, orientation sessions, and task-specific safety briefings.
- Communicate confidently with field personnel, supervision, and client representatives to address safety concerns and reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Maintain accurate and timely safety documentation, including reports, logs, incident records, and compliance tracking using digital or paper-based tools.
- Support the development and implementation of site safety programs related to confined space entry, fall protection, and lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive measures to reduce future risk.
- Promote health and safety best practices on site, ensuring all workers understand and follow safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
- At least 3 years of on-site construction safety experience, preferably on data center or other mission-critical projects.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction standards and their practical application on complex job sites.
- Proven experience supporting large, multi-trade commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Ability to confidently communicate safety expectations and requirements to field crews, supervision, and client teams.
- Proficiency with safety documentation and reporting tools, including both digital and paper-based systems.
- Hands-on experience with construction safety management, including site safety coordination and safety program implementation.
- Demonstrated capability in health and safety oversight, safety training, and safety procedures enforcement.
- Experience in construction safety, OSHA safety practices, and site safety management on active job sites.
- OSHA 510 or equivalent safety certification.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (preferred).
- NCCER Safety, STS-C, or equivalent safety credential (preferred).
- Training in confined space entry, fall protection, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures (preferred).
- Experience contributing to the development and maintenance of comprehensive safety programs.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset toward hazard identification and risk mitigation.
- Ability to build trust and influence others to follow safety standards and best practices.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based on a large-scale data center construction site, working closely with multiple trades and field crews in an active, fast-paced environment. You spend significant time in the field, conducting inspections, observations, and safety walks in areas that may involve heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions. The position relies on both digital and paper-based safety documentation and reporting tools to track compliance and communicate findings. You work standard construction hours with the flexibility to support safety needs as project activities require, contributing to a safety-focused culture where proper personal protective equipment and adherence to established safety procedures are expected at all times.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
