Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or proof of eligibility)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, or related classroom experience
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and monitoring
- Ability to foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe classroom environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet a variety of learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs according to state and federal regulations
- Plan and adapt lessons that accommodate a range of exceptional learning styles and abilities
- Assess students’ progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and service providers
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and plans
- Utilize technology, resources, and accommodations to enhance student learning
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
