Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

This full-time contract opportunity spans the entire 2026-2027 academic year and allows experienced educators to provide direct on-site support to students with diverse learning needs. If you hold a tier 3 or 4 Minnesota teaching license in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities, your expertise will help shape student outcomes throughout the district.

What you’ll bring:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license, Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (tier 3 or 4 required)
• Demonstrated experience working with a range of special education programs, ideally across different age groups
• Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills for working alongside students, staff, and administrators
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt instructional strategies to individual student needs
• Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and working within resource and RISE programs, especially at the middle school level

What you’ll do:

• Deliver direct instruction and support to students in special education programs at multiple schools, including dedicated roles at the middle school resource and RISE classrooms
• Develop, monitor, and adapt educational plans tailored to each student’s needs, ensuring progress toward academic and behavioral goals
• Foster positive relationships and advocate for student success in inclusive, collaborative settings
• Document student progress, communicate with families, and partner with interdisciplinary teams
• Support program development through participation in meetings and ongoing professional learning
