Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support our litigation team in managing a high-volume caseload of personal injury matters. The paralegal will assist attorneys with case development from intake through resolution, focusing on organization, document preparation, discovery management, and trial readiness. The ideal candidate has hands-on personal injury and litigation experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury litigation files, including organization, calendaring, and maintenance of case files.
  • Draft and format pleadings, motions, correspondence, and other court documents for attorney review and filing.
  • Coordinate and manage discovery: prepare discovery requests and responses, organize responses to requests for production, and assemble privilege logs.
  • Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, bills, and expert reports; organize chronological medical summaries for attorneys and experts.
  • Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, witness lists, and demonstratives; assist attorneys with trial preparation and courtroom logistics.
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, IMEs, and meetings with clients, witnesses, and experts.
  • Communicate with clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel; provide regular case status updates to clients and attorneys.
  • Assist with settlement preparation, demand packages, and calculation of damages; support negotiations and closing processes.
  • Perform legal research and fact-checking to support pleadings and motions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate billing records, time entries, and case-related documentation in the firms case management and e-filing systems.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in personal injury and litigation matters (required).
  • Proven experience preparing pleadings and court filings (preferred).
  • Experience managing discovery processes, including requests for production, interrogatories, and responses (preferred).
  • Strong ability to obtain, review, and summarize medical records and bills.
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems, case management software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential client information.
