This full-time role (32 hours per week) involves working closely with an elementary-aged student, supporting both academic and social growth in a vibrant educational setting. Your fluency in American Sign Language will play a key role in ensuring the student has access to clear communication and a positive learning experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential
• Previous experience supporting students in an educational setting is highly valued
• Paraprofessional skills, including patience, flexibility, and strong communication abilities
• No EIPA certification required for this position
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and encouraging environment

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one ASL interpretation and support for an elementary student throughout the school day
• Assist with academic activities, classroom participation, and routine transitions
• Collaborate with instructional teams to adapt materials and activities, ensuring accessibility
• Encourage the student’s engagement, independence, and social interaction with peers
• Help track and document progress, contributing insights for educational planning
