About the Role
ATR International is seeking an experienced Spacecraft Wire Harness Technician to support our client, a leading aerospace and spacecraft manufacturer, in San Jose, CA. This role involves fabricating, testing, and reworking flight harnesses for spacecraft hardware, working closely with engineering teams on new harness development and CI&I projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Read and understand manufacturing assembly processes and mechanical drawings
• Maintain current technical certifications for Flight Harness and Cable, and NASA Solder and Torque Certification
• Maintain all required client certifications for ESD, Contamination Control, Flight Hardware Handling, and Hazardous Waste Management
• Use wire stripping & crimping tools, heat guns, exacto knives, torque tools, and soldering irons
• Track engineering changes and perform rework to incorporate harness ECRs as required
• Perform harness rework in test and support harness work in other areas, including occasional offsite work and travel
• Perform flight harness testing, including maintaining all test adapters
• Fabricate fixtures for spacecraft harnesses
• Support engineering in building newly developed harnesses as well as harness CI&I projects
• Provide training to newcomers and/or less experienced technicians

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 10 years of related electrical, mechanical, or electronic assembly experience, including 2+ years of wire harness fabrication in the aerospace industry
• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Ability to inspect own work using a microscope up to 10x magnification
• Experience working with pre-released engineering and BOMs to develop non-flight hardware in an R&D capacity
• Skill operating automated wire cutting and labeling machines, along with various hand and power crimp tools
• Proficient with computers, including MS Office
