Senior Project Manager - Structural & Miscellaneous Metals

Location: Chicago, IL

One of our clients is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from award through closeout. This position will be responsible for planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and coordinating all project activities to ensure successful execution.

• Manage structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects from project award through completion.

• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.

• Coordinate with internal teams, fabricators, field crews, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.

• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.

• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

• Lead project meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.

• Resolve field issues and support successful project execution.

• Mentor junior project staff and contribute to process improvements.

• Experience managing construction, steel fabrication, or structural/miscellaneous metals projects.

• Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

• Experience coordinating material procurement and vendor activities.

• Knowledge of quality control and inspection processes.

• Experience managing logistics, deliveries, and material sequencing.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with Tekla or similar industry software is preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
