IMMEDIATE OPENINGS: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialists

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety operations on a large-scale mission-critical data center construction project in Abilene, TX. This individual will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and client requirements, and partnering with project teams to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Job Title: EHS Specialist | Mission Critical Data Center Construction

Location: Abilene, TX

Requirements:

• 3+ years of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience
• OSHA 30 certification required
• Experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or data center environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
• Ability to conduct site inspections, audits, and safety training

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine jobsite inspections, audits, and safety observations
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and site-specific safety policies
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and employee training sessions
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while documenting findings and corrective actions
• Review and enforce Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
• Monitor and enforce PPE compliance throughout the project site
• Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and fall protection programs
• Partner with field leadership and craft professionals to drive continuous safety improvement
• Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation

Compensation:

• $35.00/hr Straight Time
• $52.50/hr Overtime

Estimated Weekly Earnings before taxes (calculated as 40 hours at the ST rate + OT hours at the OT rate):

• 60 hours/week: ($35 × 40 ST) + ($52.50 × 20 OT) = $2,450/week
• 70 hours/week: ($35 × 40 ST) + ($52.50 × 30 OT) = $2,975/week
• 80 hours/week: ($35 × 40 ST) + ($52.50 × 40 OT) = $3,500/week
  

Travel & Housing

• No per diem or company-provided housing is available.
• Candidates must be able to travel to Abilene, TX and secure their own lodging accommodations.
• Most traveling contractors utilize RVs, Airbnb rentals, or shared housing options.
• Candidates should be prepared to cover travel and housing expenses until receiving their first paycheck, which is issued on the second Friday after starting.

For employees traveling from outside the local market or more than 50 miles from the project, AFL offers flexibility to help maintain work-life balance. Travelers can typically return home on weekends or coordinate one week at home per month, allowing them to support the project without permanently relocating their families.
