Responsibilities
- Perform CT and X-ray imaging across modalities as assigned, ensuring high-quality images while following radiation safety protocols.
- Prepare patients, position them appropriately, and manage contrast administration as needed; monitor for adverse reactions per protocol.
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment, verify correct exposure settings, and conduct post-processing to optimize image quality; document procedures in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data in EPIC; communicate findings per radiologist directions and help ensure timely report delivery.
- Provide support for weekend coverage as part of a 3x12-hour day shift schedule; ensure patient safety and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain essential competencies, including IV certification, and collaborate with the radiology team and referring clinicians to support patient care.
Requirements
- Current nursing license per the state of assignment
- BLS certification
- At least two years of recent radiology experience
- CT/X-ray imaging experience with 3–5 years of practice
- EPIC experience required
- IV certified
- Ability to work the described shift and weekend coverage in a Critical Access Hospital setting
