Our employment program requires a dedicated staff that is committed to supporting and training students in learning skills related to social, community, and vocational readiness, as well as independent living

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum/activities to meet developmental goals and instructional activities
  • Prepare lesson plans and structure daily routine for students
  • Direct Para-Professionals in classroom with daily/weekly job tasks
  • Allocate 90% of time with students teaching daily-life skills
  • Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff
  • Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis, providing progress reports as required
  • Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with program policies
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines
  • Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom/school campus
  • Ensure safe work practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned with Vocational and Day Services when school is not in session

 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Experience working with people with disabilities
  • Ability to build effective/professional relationships with families and students
  • Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum
  • Proven ability to maintain a safe a studious classroom environment
  • Ability to build effective/professional relationships
  • Highly developed oral/written communication
  • Acceptable Background Character Verification
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word

Salary Range: $38,000 - $45,000
