Aerospace CCA Rework Technician -- DoD/NASA Standards

Are you the go-to expert when a complex circuit card demands rapid, component-level rescue? In this role, you’ll bring CCAs back to spec with meticulous soldering, exact documentation, and a relentless focus on safety and quality—meeting the expectations of IPC and J-STD criteria and the rigor of DoD and NASA specifications.

Impact you’ll have

• Own rapid rework and repair of electronic/electrical CCAs and subassemblies, working independently under general supervision.
• Carry out both straightforward and intricate modifications to circuit card parts and assemblies in alignment with IPC and J-STD requirements.
• Translate detailed work instructions and released planning into action using a full suite of technical resources: CCA drawings, 2D/3D models, schematics, circuit/wiring diagrams, process/equipment specifications, photographs, illustrations, and sketches.
• Perform supporting tasks—fabrication, installation, adjustment, fit checks, fastener alignment, connections, and subassemblies—to complete rework successfully.
• Capture non-conformances down to the component level; incorporate approved changes to electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems per formal direction.
• Keep rework charts, logs, records, and reports current; document all results per procedure and feed data into statistical process control (SPC) systems.
• Operate shop tools and precision measuring instruments confidently; uphold a clean, organized, and safe work area. Handle hazardous waste if qualified.
• Contribute to defining, implementing, and monitoring work scope, and recommend product/process improvements through targeted studies and evaluations.
• Maintain all required licenses, permits, and certifications to perform CCA rework.

Expertise you bring

• Availability to work any shift.
• 5–7 years of rework operations using standard hand tools and air (pneumatic) tools.
• 3+ years applying Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA assembly soldering specifications.
• 5+ years working to J-STD-001.
• 5+ years executing component-level electronics soldering and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics; consistently follow blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for correct component placement and connections.
• Baseline computer skills: navigate desktop, taskbar, windows, and settings; use mouse/keyboard and common shortcuts; create/rename/delete/organize files and folders; connect to printers; adjust system preferences such as volume and display.
• Sharp attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and clear communication for reporting issues and following instructions.
• Experience assembling board-level parts (transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, relays, resistors, and other electronic components).
• Proficiency with soldering/desoldering using hand tools or automated systems; perform inspections including automated optical inspection (AOI).
• Ability to diagnose and repair faulty components/circuits; maintain tools and equipment; and thoroughly document assembly processes and any issues found.
