Job Description

The Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and compassionate administration of medications within our 50+ bed men’s recovery program. CRMAs support residents in their wellness and recovery by following Maine’s medication administration standards, maintaining secure medication storage, documenting accurately, and communicating clearly with supervisory staff.

This position requires integrity, reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to the mission of holistic, person-centered recovery.


Medication Administration & Safety
Administer prescribed medications according to CRMA certification
guidelines and Maine state regulations.
• Follow the 5 Rights of Medication Administration: Right Person, Right
Medication, Right Dose, Right Route, Right Time.
• Prepare and pass medications during scheduled med rounds with
accuracy.
• Document all administered medications in the facility's MAR
(Medication Administration Record) immediately and accurately per
provider's orders.
• Identify and report medication errors or omissions according to policy.
• Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and notify
supervisors immediately of concerns.
• Maintain strict security of all medication carts, locked medication
rooms, and controlled substances.
Documentation & Communication
Update the MAR, controlled substance log, and incident reports as
required.
• Communicate clearly with nursing consultants, clinicians, case
managers, and house managers regarding resident needs.
• Record PRN medication outcomes within required timeframes.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times.
Resident Support & Professional Conduct
• Interact with residents respectfully and in alignment with the Holistic
Sober Center's trauma-informed care values.
• Offer support and education regarding medication routines when
appropriate.
• Model professional boundaries and uphold a recovery-friendly
environment.
• Report behavioral or health concerns to supervisory staff.
Facility & Compliance Duties
• Participate in ongoing CRMA continuing education requirements.
• Follow all agency policies, MARR guidelines and code of ethics
• Assist with med-room organization, inventory counts, and cleanliness.
• Support emergency procedures, including overdose response
protocols, as trained
