As a Plant Electromechanical Maintenance Specialist at Diageo, you’ll be the go-to expert who keeps assets performing, production flowing, and people safe. You will partner closely with Operations, Risk, Quality, Maturation, Logistics, and Procurement to sustain a Zero Harm culture while elevating reliability, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Location, Pay & Schedule- Work Location: 7000 Celebration Way, Hope Hull, AL 36043
- Compensation: $86,465.60 annually; shift differential of $0.50/hour (afternoons) and $0.75/hour (overnights); overtime eligible
- Schedule: Flexibility to move between 8-hour, 10-hour, or rotating 12-hour shifts to support 24/7 operations
You arrive ready to lead with “Safety First.” You scan the line, check MMS and SAP notifications, and review planned work. You join a Tier 1 meeting, align on priorities, and head to the floor:
- Execute Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to the defined frequency and standard, recording results faithfully in SAP
- Partner with operators to build autonomous maintenance capability, optimize machine setups, and elevate equipment performance
- Troubleshoot electromechanical issues, using root cause methodologies (5 Whys, RCPS) to solve problems at the source
- Participate in SIC (Short Interval Control), update documentation, and raise focused improvements based on triggers
- Support capital installs—commissioning, testing, and early equipment management input
- Review RCM activities weekly and apply MMS principles, tools, and techniques; contribute to MMS ITFs
- Collaborate with TLS and Operators to strengthen asset care and problem-solving capability
- Consistent adherence to Diageo health, safety, environmental, and food safety standards
- An orderly workplace aligned to Safety and 5S practices
- Accurate SAP reporting, completion recording, and timely feedback loops
- Proactive issue identification and performance improvement ideas
- Active participation in start-of-shift huddles, performance meetings, weekly asset care reviews, and Tier 1 actions
- Ownership of personal data updates in Workday (e.g., P4G and profile details)
- Completed apprenticeship or mechanical/electrical degree preferred
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) within FMCG preferred
- Strong numerical and verbal reasoning; computer literate
- Broad electromechanical skill set with sound understanding of asset performance and maintenance strategies
- Process improvement mindset and advanced root cause problem-solving
- Self-directed yet highly collaborative; influential in upholding standards
- Constructively challenges non-adherence and raises issues promptly
- Champion for continuous improvement; adaptable and resilient to change
- Risk standards across Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment; safety/hygiene compliance procedures
- Working familiarity with SAP and Harford
- Equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Reading and applying electrical schematics
- Conveyor chain replacement and alignment
- Hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting
- Electrical/electronic systems, including high-voltage fundamentals
- Equipment installation, wiring, and commissioning
- Indoor/outdoor settings with exposure to temperature extremes, wet/slippery areas, and high noise
- Work near moving machinery and vehicles; maintain constant situational awareness
- Stand, walk, climb, and bend for extended periods; perform repetitive tasks
- Lift, move, and handle materials up to 50 lbs independently; heavier loads with team or equipment assistance
