About the Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse / Delegating Nurse (RN/DN) to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through Maryland's DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) program. Responsibilities:
  • Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized health care plans for individuals supported under Maryland DDA guidelines
  • Delegate and train direct support professionals (DSPs) on medication administration and health-related tasks per Maryland DDA delegation protocols
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document the health status of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Conduct regular follow-up visits and reassessments to ensure delegated tasks are being performed safely and correctly
  • Respond to medical concerns, incidents, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in accordance with DDA and state regulations
Requirements:
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
  • Maryland DDA Delegating Nurse certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Maryland DDA regulations, policies, and delegation procedures
  • Excellent communication and training skills for working with DSPs and interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and prioritize effectively
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to advocacy and quality care
