Lead Laborer - Water Mitigation Project

Location: Stafford, Ashburn, VA & surrounding areas
Pay: $28–$32 per hour
Assignment: 2–6 months, with potential for extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Laborer to support and skilled in water mitigation and commercial construction projects throughout Stafford, Ashburn, and surrounding Northern Virginia areas. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can work in changing environments, move between job sites as needed, and work safely in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate labor crews on water mitigation and commercial construction projects.
• Perform demolition, cleanup, removal, and general labor activities associated with water-damaged structures.
• Assist with water extraction, drying, material removal, and site preparation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and project specifications.
• Coordinate daily work activities and ensure tasks are completed according to project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, subcontractors, and crew members.
• Inspect work areas and identify potential safety hazards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
• Properly use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and construction equipment.
• Load, unload, move, and organize materials and equipment.
• Follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Work in confined spaces when required and follow all applicable confined-space safety procedures.
• Travel between Stafford, Ashburn, and surrounding project locations as needed.
• Work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and other challenging weather conditions.
• Wear and properly maintain all required PPE.
• Perform other construction and project-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a lead laborer, construction laborer, restoration worker, or similar role preferred.
• Commercial construction experience required or strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction drawings.
• Confined Space certification preferred/required.
• Strong understanding of construction-site safety practices.
• Must have and properly use required PPE.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull construction materials and equipment.
• Comfortable working in confined areas, around water-damaged structures, and in varying job-site conditions.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between project sites.
• Ability to work flexible hours based on project needs.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
