Job Description
ELISA Bioanalytical Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, CA — Fully Onsite
Employment Type: 1-Year W-2 Contract | No C2C
Pay Rate: $42.59–$47.59/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Standard 8-hour shift
Role Overview
BEPC is seeking an ELISA Bioanalytical Scientist to support a leading client’s Translational Pharmacokinetics & Pharmacodynamics (tPKPD) research team. This hands-on laboratory role will support fast-paced genetic and therapeutic development programs through the execution and development of ligand-binding, quantitative ELISA, and in vitro cell-based assays.
The ideal candidate is an experimental scientist who enjoys working at the bench and can consistently generate high-quality, reproducible data under accelerated project timelines. Strong hands-on ELISA experience, in vitro laboratory expertise, and at least 1 year of industry experience are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute, develop, and optimize quantitative ELISA and other ligand-binding assays to support research and development programs.
- Perform hands-on in vitro and cell-based experimental work according to established protocols and project requirements.
- Develop, follow, and troubleshoot biochemical and bioanalytical assay protocols.
- Analyze, interpret, document, and communicate experimental results.
- Support automated assay workflows and assist with basic troubleshooting of laboratory automation platforms.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and author technical reports and scientific documentation.
- Present data, findings, and scientific insights to cross-functional project teams.
- Manage multiple experiments and project priorities while meeting accelerated timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with scientists and other cross-functional partners in a high-performing laboratory environment.
Qualifications
Required
- BS or MS in Biological Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on assay development experience in an industry setting.
- Strong hands-on expertise with ligand-binding assays, particularly quantitative ELISA.
- Demonstrated experience developing and/or executing bioanalytical assays.
- Strong in vitro experimental capability; candidates whose experience is primarily in vivo will not meet the core needs of this position.
- Ability to consistently generate accurate, reproducible, high-quality experimental data.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight project timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and task-prioritization skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Highly Desired
- Experience operating and troubleshooting laboratory automation platforms such as Hamilton, Tecan, or Biomek.
- Flow cytometry experience.
- Cell culture maintenance, passaging, and other cell-based laboratory techniques.
Additional Preferred Experience
- Experience with other quantitative ligand-binding platforms such as MSD or Gyros.
- Mass spectrometry experience.
- Biomolecular interaction platforms such as Octet or Biacore.
- Experience with additional biochemical assay formats.
