Job Description
A fast, growing Texas firm is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior General Counsel to lead the firm’s legal operations, manage an active caseload, and provide practical in-house counsel to the Owner and multiple affiliated businesses.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee litigation and personal injury matters from case evaluation through resolution or trial.
· Manage an active caseload and review pleadings, discovery, motions, settlement demands, and other legal documents.
· Be proactively involved in Receivership proceedings and assignments.
· Supervise, mentor, and assign work to attorneys and support staff members.
· Maintain strong case-management procedures, deadlines, client communication, and work quality.
· Advise the Owner and affiliated businesses on contracts, operations, employment matters, compliance, disputes, and risk management.
· Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, vendor agreements, releases, and other business documents.
· Work with outside counsel and other professional advisors when specialized assistance is needed.
Required Qualifications
· Juris Doctor degree and active Texas law license in good standing.
· Eight to ten years of legal experience, including strong litigation and personal injury experience.
· Experience supervising attorneys or legal staff and managing multiple cases and deadlines.
· Strong legal writing, communication, judgment, confidentiality, and business-focused problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Solo or firm practice, trial work, in-house counsel, business contracts, employment law, litigation, corporate governance, and immigration law experience is preferred.
