Assistant Project Manager — $50,000-$65,000

Post Road Iron Works, located in the historic Greenwich business district, is approaching 100 years in the structural and ornamental ironworking industry. We are seeking a dependable, motivated Assistant Project Manager who is eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career with our company.

This position is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in both the office and the field. The Assistant Project Manager will support active and upcoming projects by helping coordinate communication, field information, materials, schedules, estimates, and documentation between clients, general contractors, shop staff, and field crews.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field measurements and site verifications for upcoming and active projects
  • Attend project meetings with clients, general contractors, architects, and field teams
  • Assist in preparing estimates for new work, change orders, and project revisions
  • Coordinate material procurement, tracking, and deliveries to project sites
  • Support project scheduling, documentation, submittals, and day-to-day project coordination
  • Maintain clear communication between office staff, fabrication shop, vendors, and field crews
  • Help track project progress, open items, drawings, approvals, and deadlines
  • Review project information and assist with organizing scopes of work, quantities, and field requirements
  • Follow up with suppliers, subcontractors, and team members to keep projects moving
  • Assist Senior Project Managers with problem-solving, coordination, and general project administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, project coordination, estimating, drafting, fabrication, or a related field
  • Ability to read or learn to read architectural drawings, shop drawings, and field measurements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with clients, contractors, vendors, shop personnel, and field crews
  • Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, PDFs, Bluebeam, and AI
  • Willingness to visit job sites and take accurate field notes and measurements
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple priorities

Compensation

Salary range: $50,000-$65,000, based on experience and qualifications.
