Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology assignment requiring 2+ years of IR experience and ARRT-R certification.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit handling cases in CT and X-ray, though floating to these areas is not required
- 5x8 day shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Every other holiday required
- No on-call or weekend shifts required
- Scrubbing required for IR, vascular, and pain management procedures
- Uses Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm equipment
- Cerner charting system experience required
- Procedures include tunneled catheter placements, embolizations, drain placements, suprapubic catheter placements, PEG tube placements, and Pleurx catheter placements
- Pain management procedures include epidural blocks and radiofrequency ablations
- Vascular procedures include angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, and IVC filter placements
Requirements
- ARRT-R, ACLS, BLS, and fluoro permit required
- MD license required if applicable
- 2 years of IR experience required within the last 7 years
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Proficiency with Philips Azurion C-arm and portable C-arm required
- Skills required include EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, access site prep, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Experience with abdominal, pelvic, vascular, neurological, and genitourinary IR procedures required
- Experience with angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy required
- Experience with central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines) required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment set-up, accurate patient monitoring, and maintaining sterile field during procedures
- Orientation begins each Monday with an ASAP start date
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- Returning MedStar staff must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
