The role involves evaluating employer group medical stop loss submissions and supporting underwriting decisions for both new business and renewal opportunities. This position requires analyzing risk and pricing factors, including group demographics, claim experience, large claimant activity, participation, plan design, contract terms, funding arrangements, and overall profitability. The goal is to ensure proposed stop loss coverage aligns with underwriting guidelines and can be effectively administered. The underwriter will partner with internal teams, field personnel, brokers, and clients to gather information, communicate decisions, and support competitive, financially sound solutions across the stop loss book of business. Successful candidates will bring strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and clear communication skills, with responsibilities and approval authority increasing by level.
