Auto CAD Drafter

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for low voltage system designs (structured cabling, fire alarm, security, and access control, audio visual).
• Review and verify Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy and project requirements.
• Ensure all necessary materials are available and coordinate restocking as needed.
• Contact vendors to confirm product availability, lead times, and pricing.
• Work closely with the purchasing department to ensure timely ordering of materials.
• Maintain and organize project design files and technical documentation.
• Revise and update drawings based on feedback from engineering or field teams.
• Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to resolve design or material issues.
• Assist in creating submittal packages and as-built documentation.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of AutoCAD drafting experience in the low voltage or related industry.
• Working knowledge of structured cabling, fire alarm, and security system design.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work and material planning.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work well with multiple departments including engineering, purchasing, and field operations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (knowledge of Revit or other CAD tools is a plus).
