Key Responsibilities
- Medication Administration: Safely administer routine oral and topical medications via barcode scanning in accordance with physician orders and facility policy.
- Vital Signs & Monitoring: Record vital signs according to standards of practice and promptly report any unusual side effects or health changes to the Charge Nurse.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic documentation of all administered medications and treatments.
- Medication Inventory Support: Assist nursing leadership with re-ordering, returning, or disposing of medications and supplies to prevent shortages or expired stock.
- System Improvements: Offer ideas and suggestions to streamline unit workflow and enhance resident care safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Active state certification on the Maine CNA Registry.
- Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Training Program (CNA-M).
- Technical Skills: Comfortable navigating computer-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Core Strengths: Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a genuine heart for senior care.
