Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology experience for an invasive cardiology and radiology procedural unit.
Details
- Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures unit performing invasive cardiology and invasive radiology studies
- Patient population requires invasive cardiology or interventional radiology procedures
- 4x10 day shift schedule with on-call rotation over a 20-week contract
- Weekend and holiday coverage via call rotation
- Required to float to all procedural areas as needed
- EPIC EMR charting experience required
Requirements
- Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
- Interventional Radiology experience required
- Neuro Interventional and EP experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology required
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
- IEMA Radiography License (Illinois) required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience required
- EPIC charting experience required for consideration
Additional Information
- Assist physicians during invasive cardiology and interventional radiology procedures
- Administer contrast material and medications per physician order and scope of practice
- Perform venipuncture and IV line placement, recognizing and responding to allergic reactions
- Maintain sterile field and function as scrub or monitor technician on a rotating basis
- Verify patient identification, diagnosis, and treatment position prior to procedures
- Compile clinical information from labs, pathology, and other sources
- Document care accurately and provide patient comfort, safety, and support throughout procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging and physiological monitoring equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized procedural work area
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Workers may not remain continuously on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system, requiring conversion or a 6-month break before returning
