Job Summary The Processing Technician is responsible for supporting the Rapid Analysis Department by managing laboratory samples, maintaining document retention systems, and assisting with sample preparation and forage analysis. This role performs laboratory processing activities, including sample grinding, labeling, weighing, and NIR scanning while ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards, safety procedures, and housekeeping requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage laboratory samples and document retention systems. Prepare laboratory samples for testing and analysis. Grind, label, weigh, and organize samples for processing. Perform Near-Infrared (NIR) scanning on forage samples. Support forage sample analysis and laboratory processing activities. Maintain accurate sample records and documentation. Ensure laboratory housekeeping and cleanliness standards are maintained. Follow laboratory safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Prioritize multiple assignments while meeting established turnaround times. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and cross-functional teams. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory, processing, or sample handling experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and related software applications. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a laboratory, food testing, agricultural, or analytical testing environment. Experience with sample preparation and laboratory documentation. Familiarity with Near-Infrared (NIR) technology or laboratory analytical equipment.
