Job Title: Driver / Yard Support Specialist
Job Description
This role combines professional driving with hands-on yard support to keep construction and roofing operations running smoothly. You will safely transport materials, equipment, and supplies between suppliers, company yards, and jobsites, while also assisting with day-to-day yard activities such as organizing inventory, loading and unloading deliveries, and maintaining a clean, efficient work area. You will work closely with dispatch, yard leadership, and field crews to ensure timely deliveries and support project needs in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver materials, equipment, and supplies to and from suppliers, company yards, and jobsites on a daily basis.
- Operate a company ¾-ton pickup truck with a flatbed trailer safely and professionally at all times.
- Coordinate daily dispatches, routes, and schedules with the yard leadership team.
- Complete required vehicle inspections, delivery documentation, and logs using company mobile applications.
- Navigate active construction sites safely while maintaining clear communication with field crews, foremen, and project teams.
- Assist with yard operations during downtime, including organizing inventory and equipment to ensure efficient access and storage.
- Palletize materials to support safe handling, storage, and transportation.
- Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks and trailers using appropriate tools and methods.
- Perform general yard maintenance and housekeeping to keep the facility clean, safe, and organized.
- Operate a forklift to move, load, and stage materials, as needed and once trained and certified by the company.
- Provide courteous, customer-focused service when interacting with internal teams and external partners.
- Follow all safety procedures, traffic rules, and company policies related to driving, equipment operation, and yard work.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience in driving, general labor, or related construction support roles.
- Experience towing trailers and operating pickup trucks, including ¾-ton vehicles with flatbed trailers.
- Demonstrated ability to operate safely in and around active construction sites.
- Strong commitment to safety and safe driving practices, including adherence to traffic laws and company safety standards.
- Ability to load, unload, lift, and move materials and equipment as needed throughout the workday.
- Experience with forklift operation or strong comfort working around forklifts in a yard environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment with changing priorities.
- Basic proficiency using mobile applications or handheld devices for inspections and documentation.
- Customer service–oriented mindset when dealing with internal teams and external contacts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Forklift experience preferred; company will provide certification for qualified candidates.
- DOT certifications or endorsements are a plus but not required.
- Construction, roofing, or yard operations is beneficial.
- Experience with loading, unloading, and palletizing materials.
- Comfort working in general labor roles, including outdoor and physical tasks.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with dispatch, yard staff, and field crews.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early-morning shifts on a consistent basis.

Work Environment
This is a full-time role with a Monday–Friday schedule, typically from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, supporting construction and roofing operations. You will primarily work outdoors and in yard and jobsite environments, frequently exposed to varying weather conditions and active construction areas. The position involves operating a ¾-ton pickup truck with a flatbed trailer and using company-provided mobile applications for inspections and documentation. You will regularly handle physical tasks such as lifting, loading, unloading, and palletizing materials. Forklifts and other material-handling equipment are common in the yard, and the company will certify you to operate a forklift for work-related tasks. The work setting emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with an expectation of practical, job-appropriate attire suitable for construction and yard work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
