Location: Ashland City | Schedule: 2nd shift, 4pm to 1:30am | Payrate: $20.30/hour 

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a respected leader in the maritime industry to hire skilled and safety-focused Career Welders ready to take their trade to the next level. This role is ideal for experienced welders who are committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced industrial setting. 

What You’ll Do 

As a Career Welder, you’ll play a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of maritime structures and components. Your welding expertise will directly support production quality, structural integrity, and operational excellence. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) accurately and consistently 

• Perform FCAW (Flux-Core Arc Welding) fillet welds in: 

  • Flat (1F) 

  • Horizontal (2F) 

  • Vertical (3F) 

  • Overhead (4F) positions 

• Inspect completed welds to ensure all quality standards and specifications are met 

• Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures 

• Participate in safety initiatives and committee activities when applicable 

• Support production and team operations with additional assigned duties 

What You Bring 

Required Qualifications: 

• Minimum 1 year of FCAW (flux-core welding) experience 

• Ability to successfully pass: 

  • Vertical fillet weld (3F) test 

  • Overhead fillet weld (4F) test using FCAW 

• Strong understanding of weld size requirements and quality acceptance standards 

• Ability to work while wearing required PPE, including respirators and protective gear 

• Comfortable working at heights of 15 feet or more 

• Ability to climb ladders and stairs safely 

• Comfortable working in confined or narrow spaces for extended periods 

• Physical ability to kneel, bend, walk, and stand for long durations 

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous maritime, shipbuilding, or heavy industrial welding experience 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship 

• Team-oriented mindset with strong work ethic and reliability
