Job Description
Job Summary The Pre-Press Associate II is responsible for preparing and organizing materials required for printing production operations. This role supports manufacturing and press operations by preparing printing plates, dies, inks, labels, packaging materials, and related production supplies. The position requires strong attention to detail, inventory management skills, quality awareness, and adherence to safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, and capable of working collaboratively with production, planning, and material handling teams to ensure efficient and accurate job setup and execution. Key Responsibilities Pr e-Press & Production Preparation Prepare printing plates, dies, inks, boxes, labels, cores, paperwork, and other materials required for production orders. Accurately mount flexible printing plates onto print cylinders according to production specifications. Ensure all materials and components are properly prepared and available before production begins. Collaborate with planning and material handling teams to ensure jobs are set up correctly and efficiently. Inventory Management Return unused materials and components upon completion of production orders. Perform inventory transactions accurately using handheld scanning devices. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities. Maintain inventory accuracy and proper material tracking throughout production processes. Production Support Support press operations and demonstrate the ability to operate printing equipment when the primary press operator is unavailable or on break. Assist production teams in maintaining workflow efficiency and meeting production schedules. Ensure materials are available and staged appropriately for manufacturing activities. Quality Assurance Perform basic quality inspections and product checks as required. Verify materials and finished products meet established quality standards and specifications. Identify and report quality concerns, defects, or discrepancies promptly. Support continuous improvement efforts related to product quality and operational efficiency. Equipment Operation & Safety Operate electric lift carts and elevated work platforms safely and effectively. Conduct routine equipment inspections and daily maintenance checks. Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or operational issues to management. Follow all workplace safety procedures, policies, and regulations. Compliance & Operational Excellence Adhere to all company policies, work instructions, and operational procedures. Comply with all warehouse and manufacturing safety requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Actively participate in safety programs, initiatives, and continuous improvement a ctivities. Required Qualifications Hi gh School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow written instructions, production schedules, and work procedures. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer and scanner operation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety and quality stan dards. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in: Printing Operations Pre-Press Production Packaging Manufacturing Warehouse Operations Inventory Control Experience using handheld barcode scanners and inventory management systems. Familiarity with printing plates, flexographic printing processes, or press operations. Experience performing quality inspections and manufacturing-related activities. Experience operating lift equipment or elevated work platform s. Certifications (If Any) No specific certifications required. Forklift, Lift Equipment, OSHA Safety, or Manufacturing-related certifications are considered a plus. Work Environment M anufacturing and printing production environment. Frequent interaction with printing equipment, production materials, and warehouse operations. May require operating elevated work platforms and material handling equipment. Must comply with all company and facility safety requirements and procedures. Education: High School
