AB Staffing Solutions is seeking an Elementary Physical Education Teacher for a full-time opportunity near Steger, Illinois for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Details
- Full-time, Monday-Friday
- 35 hours per week
- Elementary school setting
- Start Date: August 23, 2026
- School-based position
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Physical Education endorsement/certification appropriate for the elementary level
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities
- Teach physical fitness, health education, rhythms/dance, individual activities, and team sports
- Develop and implement PE instruction aligned with district curriculum
- Demonstrate and teach fundamental movement, sports, and game skills
- Adapt instruction to meet individual and small-group student needs
- Establish and maintain appropriate student behavior and classroom expectations
- Provide safety instruction and regularly inspect equipment and activity areas
- Evaluate student growth and progress in physical skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with PE teachers and school staff
- Communicate with families and school counselors regarding student progress as needed
- Supervise students during assigned activities and maintain equipment and inventory records
- Participate in faculty committees, professional development, and student activities as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and participation in physical activities
- Ability to demonstrate physical skills and activities
- May require lifting and moving PE equipment
