Description
American Traveler is seeking an OR Tech/Cath Lab Tech with 3+ years of Cath Lab experience to support a busy cardiac catheterization lab at a Level IV Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital that is a Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital
- Cath Lab unit currently expanding from four to five procedure rooms
- Scrub in alongside a Cath Lab RN and Cath Lab Tech as part of a three-person procedural team
- Adult cardiology and structural cardiology patient population
- 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- No floating required to sister facilities
- Charting system used is Cerner
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association required
- ARRT registration required
- WV or Compact license required; pending license accepted for consideration but active license required before start
- License required if applicable
- Cerner charting experience required
- Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, left heart catheterization, PCI, and PTCA
- Skilled in scrub procedures including equipment setup, maintaining sterile field, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions/PPE, and sterile technique
- Minimum of 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
- SSN and DOB required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided
- Free parking for travelers
- First-time travelers will not be considered due to the fast pace of the unit
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-99 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
- No RTO restrictions
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last employment date before returning as a traveler
- Current Vandalia Health System employees are not eligible for this travel assignment
- Orientation held every other Thursday
