The RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and heart-led Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our clinical team at Bethea Retirement Community!
In this vital role, you will be responsible for administering medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders, monitoring resident wellness, and providing support to our direct care staff. Key ResponsibilitiesMedication Administration: Prepare, administer, and document medications and routine treatments accurately in compliance with state regulations, physician orders, and community policies.
Clinical Observation & Reporting: Monitor resident health trends, vital signs, and medication responses; immediately report any subtle changes, side effects, or concerns to the supervising nurse or manager.
Inventory & Pharmacy Coordination: Maintain clean, organized medication carts, perform daily shift counts, track supplies, and coordinate reorders with pharmacy partners.
Resident Care Support: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed and respond promptly to resident call lights and emergency situations.
Documentation: Maintain precise, real-time documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and complete shift handover reports.
Certification: Active South Carolina Medication Technician certification / Registration (or meet state requirements to administer medications in a licensed facility).
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as a Med Tech or Caregiver in Assisted Living, Personal Care, or Senior Living settings preferred.
Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
