Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center is seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Memory Care Activities Coordinator to join our team in Rutherfordton, NC.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for working with seniors living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions. We are looking for someone who can bring creativity, patience, compassion, and enthusiasm to our Memory Care program while creating meaningful experiences for our residents every day.
CNA certification is preferred, especially for candidates with experience working in Memory Care, Long-Term Care, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, or Senior Living.

Your Impact as a Memory Care Activities Coordinator
As our Memory Care Activities Coordinator, you will help create a structured, engaging, and supportive environment designed around the unique needs and abilities of our Memory Care residents.
Responsibilities include:
Planning, coordinating, and leading daily activities specifically designed for residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and memory-related conditions
Developing meaningful programming that supports cognitive stimulation, physical activity, creativity, socialization, and emotional well-being
Leading activities such as music, arts and crafts, sensory activities, games, exercise, reminiscing, holiday celebrations, and special events
Adapting activities to each resident's abilities, interests, preferences, and stage of memory loss
Encouraging resident participation through patience, creativity, and positive reinforcement
Creating opportunities for one-on-one engagement for residents who may not participate in group activities
Building trusting relationships with residents and helping create a calm, welcoming, and engaging Memory Care environment
Assisting residents safely to and from activities, including wheelchair assistance when needed
Maintaining activity calendars, supplies, participation records, and required documentation
Communicating resident interests, behaviors, preferences, and participation with the interdisciplinary care team
Collaborating with nursing, caregivers, families, and other departments to support resident-centered care
Helping coordinate special events, celebrations, family activities, and community programs
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
CNA certification preferred
Experience working with Memory Care, Alzheimer's, dementia, senior living, skilled nursing, assisted living, or long-term care residents REQUIRED
Activities, recreation, caregiving, or senior engagement experience REQUIRED
Knowledge of dementia-friendly activities and approaches to resident engagement is a preferred
Compassionate, patient, creative, dependable, and energetic
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to organize and lead both group and individual activities
Ability to safely assist residents, including pushing wheelchairs when needed
A genuine passion for improving the quality of life of older adults
