Braze Operators

Description:

POSITION SUMMARY 

Performs brazing operations to join metal components used in geotechnical drilling tool assemblies, following brazing procedures and quality standards. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Set up and operate brazing furnaces and torch brazing stations 
• Prepare components for brazing including cleaning and flux application 
• Braze assemblies per approved brazing procedure specifications (BPS) 
• Inspect brazed joints for soundness and proper filler metal flow 
• Maintain brazing equipment and monitor furnace temperatures 
• Document brazing parameters and production records 
• Follow all safety procedures for high-temperature operations 

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• High school diploma or GED 
• 1+ years brazing or soldering experience in a manufacturing environment 
• Ability to follow technical procedures 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Experience with furnace brazing and torch brazing 
• Knowledge of brazing alloys and fluxes for steel and carbide 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Exposure to high temperatures, brazing fumes, and flux chemicals. PPE required including heat-resistant gloves and safety glasses.
