Forklift Operator | Hyde Park, UT
Nexeo Staffing is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join a busy fabrication and manufacturing facility in Hyde Park, Utah. This position plays a vital role in supporting daily production by loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials throughout the facility, staging inventory for jobs, and maintaining an organized yard. The ideal candidate has forklift experience, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to keeping operations running efficiently. When material handling needs are light, this individual will assist with yard organization, inventory staging, shipping and receiving support, and other operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a forklift to transport materials throughout the facility, warehouse, and yard.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks while ensuring product accuracy and safety.
- Stage materials, parts, and inventory for production and fabrication jobs.
- Assist shipping and receiving personnel with inventory movement and packaging products for delivery.
- Transport raw materials to production workstations and designated storage areas.
- Move, organize, and rotate materials as directed by area supervisors.
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Assist with vehicle inspections and coordinate maintenance when necessary.
- Refuel equipment and maintain vehicles in clean, operational condition.
- Identify damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, shortages, or quality concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the yard and storage areas.
- Assist with assembly and production support tasks as needed.
- Provide backup support for shipping and receiving functions during employee absences.
- Provide backup support for delivery driver responsibilities when required.
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift operating experience required.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.
- Ability to safely load, unload, transport, and stage materials in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to complete paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Experience with shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Preferred: Experience with shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or manufacturing environments.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to assist in multiple areas of operations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, move, and position materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely enter and exit trucks, equipment, and work platforms.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions on a regular basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively and exchange accurate information.
- Ability to visually inspect materials, equipment, and work areas.
Pay
$18.00-$22.00 per hour
Schedule
Full Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
