Are PLC faults, motor starters, and conduit bends your comfort zone? If so, you’ll feel at home in this Electrician A role, where you’ll keep motors, process pumps and controls, programmable logic controllers, and building/material-handling systems operating at their best.
About the roleBased 100% onsite in Ogden, UT, you will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and take ownership of constructing, installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting plant electrical systems. This position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for well-qualified candidates.
Daily impact- Maintain, test, and repair electrical circuits and equipment to safeguard compatibility and component safety.
- Install and service facility electrical to NEC standards, ensuring high-quality, code-compliant work.
- Execute preventive maintenance on equipment, facilities, and systems; keep meticulous PM records.
- Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective components promptly; notify the supervisor of any irregularities according to procedure.
- Measure, cut, bend, and pull wire and conduit; perform clean terminations and splices.
- Repair and replace switches, fuses, contactors, controls, motors, breakers, and related hardware.
- Follow oral and written instructions from the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Coordinate with the central maintenance shop to align priorities and resources.
- Assist fellow maintenance technicians and engineers; train other craftspersons as assigned.
- Periodically lead and direct lower-classified crafts personnel to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Use electrical testing instruments, manual and power hand tools, tube benders, splicing tools, and wire-pulling equipment.
- Work with wire, contactors, switches, motors, breakers, fuses, and other electrical hardware.
- Operate within an industrial environment that includes process equipment and chemicals.
- Adhere to all safety rules and plant procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; return tools, unused materials, and reference documents to designated locations.
- High school diploma or GED required; relevant trade/technical education in industrial electrical maintenance may count toward the experience requirement.
- Five (5) years of electrical craft experience, including a minimum of three (3) years in industrial electrical maintenance.
