Job Description
Join a cross-functional plant engineering team to design, document, and support capital equipment installations while maintaining safe, code-aligned operations.
Core Responsibilities- Team with plant engineering, maintenance, and department stakeholders; provide clear updates; attend safety and project meetings; contribute to estimation sessions.
- Create and revise: layouts, P&ID’s, process flow diagrams, piping schematics, structural and electrical drawings, fabrication details, and installation packages.
- Generate print plots and copy prints; convert drawing sets to PDF; verify conditions with meticulous field measurements.
- Execute beam calculations and deck design; apply OSHA requirements for construction elements (ladders, railings, decks), piping, and electrical; incorporate ASME pressure vessel considerations.
- Review vendor equipment drawings for fit, function, and compliance.
- Develop material takeoffs and lists; obtain quotes; issue purchase requisitions; track and reconcile materials.
- Archive drawings and material lists; assist teams in retrieving historic records.
- Provide GTP/SEA graphic art support; supply maintenance with flat patterns and part drawings.
- Perform additional relevant tasks with minimal supervision.
- 2-year CAD/Drafting degree (or equivalent) and 8–12 years of drafting/design experience.
- Advanced AutoCAD proficiency; strong blueprint reading skills.
- Ability to work at a computer for 8 hours/day.
- Capable of acquiring measurements in a chemical plant setting.
- PPE readiness: respirator, fall arrest harness, gloves, chemical suit, hearing protection, as needed.
- Comfort with confined space entry and working at heights when required.
