- Schedule may occasionally fluctuate based on department needs (e.g., 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Position Overview
Using radiological (X-ray) imaging equipment and established imaging standards, the Registered Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic procedures under close to moderate supervision. This role requires strong technical expertise, patient-centered communication, and a commitment to safety while producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and perform diagnostic radiological (X-ray) examinations.
- Review and interpret imaging orders, consulting with physicians when orders are unclear, complex, or require additional clarification.
- Select appropriate imaging protocols and technical parameters based on anatomy and clinical indications.
- Interview patients to identify safety concerns and risk factors prior to imaging procedures.
- Educate and guide patients throughout the imaging process, helping to alleviate anxiety and ensure a positive experience.
- Apply cultural sensitivity and effective communication when working with diverse patient populations.
- Upload images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Accurately document procedures and patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Follow departmental quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and registration.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy acquired through education and/or clinical experience.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting radiology orders.
