Barrington, IL – Interventional Radiology Tech (Day Shift | 8hr | Call Rotation)
Quick Glance:

- Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Call: Required (weekends/holidays as needed)
- Setting: Interventional Radiology (4 procedure rooms)
- Experience: 2+ years IR required
- Charting Systems: EPIC, MERGE
- Parking: Free
- Scrubs: Provided
Scope of Role:
- Perform both invasive and non-invasive interventional radiology procedures
- Assist physicians with biopsies, vascular, and peripheral interventions
- Scrub and circulate/record during procedures
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging throughout procedures
- Work collaboratively with nurses and procedural team in a 3-person room setup
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for IR procedures
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards
- Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to emergent situations
- Accurately document procedures in EPIC and MERGE systems
- Maintain procedure rooms, equipment, and supply inventory
- Participate in call rotation and support weekend/holiday coverage
Must-Have Credentials:
- ARRT (R) certification
- Active BLS (AHA)
- ACLS certification
- State radiologic technologist license (IEMA)
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Ability to scrub and record independently
Highly Preferred:
- Experience with peripheral vascular interventions
Patient Population:
- Adult and geriatric patients
- Procedures include biopsies and vascular/peripheral interventions
Work Environment:
- 4 dedicated IR procedure rooms
- Separate pre/post procedural care unit
- Collaborative team structure (2 nurses + 1 tech per case)
Additional Details:
- Orientation: 1–3 days on unit
- Up to 7 days off may be approved during assignment
- First-time travelers considered upon review
