Summary of the Role:
The Cultivation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cultivation operations and supporting the Cultivation and Post Harvest Manager in managing the cannabis growth cycle from clone through the start of harvest. This role supervises cultivation activities, monitors plant health, and maintains optimal environmental conditions to ensure consistent, high-quality production. The Cultivation Supervisor ensures all operations adhere to company standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable state regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of cannabis cultivation workflows are essential to the success of this position.Key Responsibilities:Cultivation Oversight
The Cultivation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily cultivation operations and supporting the Cultivation and Post Harvest Manager in managing the cannabis growth cycle from clone through the start of harvest. This role supervises cultivation activities, monitors plant health, and maintains optimal environmental conditions to ensure consistent, high-quality production. The Cultivation Supervisor ensures all operations adhere to company standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and applicable state regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and a solid understanding of cannabis cultivation workflows are essential to the success of this position.Key Responsibilities:Cultivation Oversight
- Supervise and assist with day-to-day cultivation operations, ensuring proper care and maintenance of plants at all stages from clone through harvest
- Monitor plant health, growth progress, and environmental conditions, making adjustments as needed to optimize yield and quality
- Maintain and manage the facility’s environmental control system (GrowLink), including daily monitoring, adjustments, and reporting of climate, lighting, and CO₂ levels
- Implement and enforce cultivation protocols, including watering schedules, nutrient programs, pruning, plant training, and integrated pest management (IPM)
- Collaborate with the Cultivation and Post Harvest Manager to maintain optimal growing conditions and resolve plant health or environmental issues
- Work with the Facilities and approved vendors to ensure HVAC and environmental systems are operating correctly
- Lead, train, and mentor cultivation staff to maintain high standards of productivity, quality, and safety
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment with clear and consistent communication
- Ensure all team members are trained on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and compliance requirements
Quality Control & Compliance
- Monitor cultivation processes to ensure compliance with state and local cannabis regulations, including traceability and testing requirements
- Ensure all cannabis plants and materials are handled in accordance with company quality standards
- Maintain accurate cultivation records, including plant health notes, plant inventory, batch tracking, and compliance documentation
- Assist with managing inventory levels of cultivation materials and supplies
- Track and monitor the movement of cannabis from cultivation through post-harvest, ensuring accurate reporting in inventory and tracking systems
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Cultivation and Post Harvest Manager regarding plant health, harvest readiness, and operational issues
- Document challenges, discrepancies, and corrective actions within the cultivation process
- Ensure proper recordkeeping of all cultivation activities to support audits and regulatory compliance
- Work cross-functionally to maintain exemplary standards of cleanliness, organization, functionality, safety, and security throughout the cultivation facility
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient, compliant, and patient-focused operations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Degree in horticulture, plant science, agriculture, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cannabis cultivation or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- In-depth understanding of cannabis cultivation practices, plant health management, and pest control techniques
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, compliance standards, and recordkeeping requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Extended computer usage
- Comfortable working in an environment with constant video surveillance
- Ability to work around plants
- Work can be dirty/sticky and may leave you smelling like cannabis at the end of the day.
- Work will be in a warehouse setting: temperatures may vary from warm to cool.
- Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to, fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
