Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Rehab position in a long-term care setting, requiring 1+ year of PT experience and LTC or rehab experience.
Details
- Long-term care/skilled nursing facility setting within the Physical Therapy unit
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, with flexible start times between 6AM-10AM as long as consistent
- No weekend shifts required unless a holiday falls Monday-Friday, in which case hours may be made up on the weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Patient caseload typically ranges from 7-12 patients per day depending on case mix and evaluations
- Typical treatment times are approximately 1 hour for Medicare B patients and 30-35 minutes for Medicare A and managed care patients
- Group therapy sessions are utilized at this facility
- Each therapist is provided a dedicated device for documentation
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Current MO state PT license required; compact licenses accepted
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of PT experience required
- LTC or Rehab setting experience required
- New graduates considered if they have completed Level II clinical experience (not just Level I observation)
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include screening, evaluating, and rehabilitating patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care needs
- Develop and adjust individualized plans of care using standardized assessments and evidence-based practices
- Administer treatments including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation training, modalities, and use of assistive devices
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans
- Document all treatment services, minutes, and discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and required facility trainings
- Supervise physical therapist assistants, rehab aides, and/or students as needed
- Adhere to APTA standards and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics
- Requests for time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
- New graduates with qualifying clinical experience will be presented directly to the facility for review rather than going through the standard interview process
