Business Development Representative – Non-Medical Home Care
Are you an energetic communicator who thrives on building relationships and making a real difference in people’s lives? Our expanding non-medical home care agency is seeking a Business Development Representative to drive strategic growth, foster community connections, and champion our mission to serve seniors across Ingham, Livingston, Oakland, and Washtenaw Counties in Southeast Michigan.
About the Role: As a Business Development Representative, you’ll lead outside sales and community engagement within your territory. Your efforts will be key to increasing our visibility, developing referral partnerships, and helping families connect with the care they need. Expect to make 10-15 meaningful connections daily with referral sources, including assisted living facilities and/or Independent living facilities, senior centers, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
- Identify and nurture relationships with assisted living facilities, independent living communities, senior centers, and local organizations
- Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives to grow agency awareness and referral streams
- Deliver presentations and educational seminars to referral partners and community groups
- Represent the agency at networking events, health fairs, and community functions
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and key performance metrics
Client Acquisition
- Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from prospective clients and families
- Conduct in-home assessments to understand client needs and recommend appropriate services
- Clearly explain agency offerings, pricing, and processes in compliance with Michigan regulations
- Prepare service agreements and manage all necessary documentation
- Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless client onboarding
Relationship Management
- Maintain regular, meaningful contact with referral sources via visits, calls, and written communication
- Build and manage a robust database of contacts and track all sales activities
- Address and resolve concerns from referral partners or potential clients with professionalism
- Share market insights and feedback with leadership to inform ongoing strategy
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales or marketing, ideally in healthcare or senior services
- Valid Michigan driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Experience in home care, senior services, or healthcare
- Familiarity with Michigan’s non-medical home care regulations (LARA)
- Existing network of healthcare/community contacts in the region
- Experience with WellSky Personal Care software
