Pre/Post Care Nurse

1.     Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN desirable. Able to read and communicate in English. BLS, ACLS, and PALS as needed.

2.     Experience: One year in a peri-operative setting.

A.    Coordinate and supervise patient care reflecting the needs of the patients, families, and the facility.

B.    Provide care that puts the patient first by honoring their individual needs, preferences, and values.

C.    Make clinical decisions using sound nursing judgement, guided by evidenced-based practice, and a comprehensive understanding of disease processes and their potential impact on the surgical course.

D.    Demonstrate knowledge across all areas of patient and family services relevant to outpatient/ambulatory care, including equipment safety, conscious sedation, and procedural care.

E.   Maintain a current working knowledge of medications commonly used in the perioperative setting.

F. Demonstrate the ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment of a patient and reassess as needed.
