Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to serve as the face of our local branch. You will assist contractors, plumbers, and DIY customers at our sales counter, pulled-order pickup area, and over the phone. If you enjoy working directly with tradespeople, solving problems on the fly, and learning the wholesale supply business, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet walk-in trade contractors, process counter orders, answer product inquiries, and recommend complementary items.
• Order Processing: Enter orders accurately into our ERP system, verify stock availability, and pull items from the warehouse as needed.
• Inventory & Display: Keep counter displays, showroom inventory, and front-of-house shelves clean, stocked, and organized.
• Communication: Answer incoming phone calls, provide price and availability quotes, and follow up on backorders.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse and inside sales staff to ensure timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in retail sales, counter sales, or customer service (plumbing, HVAC, hardware, or wholesale distribution experience is a big plus).
• Basic computer literacy and comfort navigating inventory software.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during the workday.
