Job Description
The health center is a patient-centered, team based multi-specialty practice located in central Brooklyn. It has been providing affordable, comprehensive, outpatient medical and dental services in an outpatient setting for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the center serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. Our mission is to provide the most professional, courteous and highest quality health care, with dignity, to those we serve, especially the undeserved population, without regard for ability to pay.
We have an opportunity for a LCSW to provide quality, competent, safe and compassionate care based on established standards in a patient-focused preventative, treatment care and counseling.
Schedule: Mon- Fri 9A-5P, Must be able to work onsite and every other Saturday
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11216 (rotating between 3 locations)
Qualifications:
- LCSW REQUIRED
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability, and gender issues.
- A PLUS - Knowledge of the DSM –V, understanding of psychosis, OCD, and Substance Use Disorder Counseling .Recovery oriented and trauma informed. Motivational Interviewing techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Behavioral Activation.
Other Related Skills/Experience:
- Experience/An understanding of eClinical Works is helpful.
- The ability to demonstrate teamwork and effective interpersonal relations skills is imperative.
- Excellent written/oral communication and computer skills are required.
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team and clients
